Philly Offers Affordable Housing to Help Parents Regain Custody of Kids in Foster Care

Parents working to reunify with their children following removal by child welfare services often have a long court-ordered list of goals to meet in areas such as employment, education, mental health, and substance abuse. However, no matter how close many parents get to the end of that list, one barrier often remains: stable housing. To address this, the City of Philadelphia Department of Human Services and the Office of Homeless Services are partnering to help families who have housing stability issues and are on track to regain custody of their children within six months.
