NCCD’s work to reform the criminal and juvenile justice and child welfare systems is inextricably linked with issues of racial justice and equity. We believe that NCCD staff should reflect the individuals and communities most affected by these systems and that diversity is critical to advancing just and equitable systems.
NCCD is seeking a researcher and statistical coder with strong quantitative skills to work on social justice research projects. This person will aggregate data files, merge across datasets, and clean data to analyze the effect of fiscal policy on children and families involved in the foster care and juvenile justice systems (75–80% of total time). Other responsibilities will include compiling and writing reports with R, SPSS, Stata, Python, or SQL; developing research design, hypotheses, and instruments; conducting literature reviews; and presenting research findings to clients.
