Training

Training

NCCD staff train front-line workers, supervisors, managers, and agency trainers to improve services to individuals and families. Trainings are developed to respond to the specific needs of each agency or organization.

We provide training in:

  • Juvenile justice and adult corrections, related to the implementation of JAIS/CAIS and other risk assessments, information about disproportionate incarceration by race and sexual orientation, restorative justice alternatives to juvenile prosecution, and trauma-focused services.
  • Child welfare, adult protection, and welfare-to-work, related to the implementation of SDM systems and family/client engagement.
  • Family- and client-centered practice across systems, including trauma-focused care and safety-informed care in child protection.
