Ad Hoc Analytics
Ad Hoc Analytics

Ad hoc analytics is a data analysis and report writing service that provides customized reports in order to answer critical questions posed by agency managers and administrators. The perfect complement to SafeMeasures and management reports, our ad hoc analytics service allows an agency to respond quickly to data reporting needs such as requests from oversight boards, media, agency heads, or funding bodies, or to supplement existing data reporting.

Our ad hoc analysts have extensive experience navigating large and small data systems to mine data elements containing answers to agency questions. We have worked with numerous states and counties to provide accurate, timely, and helpful reports. These can take many forms: simple case lists; a comparison of measures over time; a summary of agency activities over a period of time, such as an annual report that is shared with a county board; or whatever is most useful in answering the particular question.

Our analysts are also trained in research methods and can assist local research personnel with identifying study cohorts, outcomes of interest, and outcome rates. Because ad hoc analysts are so familiar with agency data, the service is like having another analyst on staff.

Ad hoc reports are based on agency administrative data and are generally produced in 24 hours to 10 days. Results include a clear description of the inquiry posed by the agency, a description of the methodology employed to select and summarize the data, and clear results that can be used by the agency to support analysis or research needs.

Ad hoc analytics has been very helpful to our county in planning and implementing our Child Welfare System Improvement Plan. NCCD staff are able to answer questions in a quick and accurate manner. Their service has assisted us in assessing the effectiveness of our differential response programs, planning for a new clinic to address the socioemotional needs of infants and toddlers, and using data to target our concurrent planning efforts.
